Early this morning, I finished working my first set of three 12-hour shifts in the last six days...and I did it all without a babysitter. I'm exhausted! After bouts of denial, begging, pleading, and the occasional tantrum throwing (all performed by me), I hesitantly dusted off my stethescope and headed back to work. It didn't take long for me to get back into the swing of things; administering chemotherapy, restraining patients, standing up to doctors, and staying awake from 7pm to 7am. I did have to make the occasional awkward announcement to my fellow coworkers that if they needed me I would be in the bathroom "pumping". But now that I am done and have over a week off to enjoy my baby until it all starts again, I am realizing...I can do this.

You are AMAZING!!! You go girl!!! :)
Wow! Yea for Super-Mom! I'm sure Oliver loves you for it :)
Wow, Vanessa! That's something to be proud of. You deserve every nap you take!
You did it, and Oliver is such a good baby, he won't mind!
Oh Vanessa, I totally feel you. You can do it!
I love Oliver's face in this pic. He's so adorable.
Pumping sucks. Especially in superclean places like bathrooms. Of course, not having an option to feed your baby when you're not around sucks too! I guess it's always a blessing to have work when you want it, right? :) Your baby is adorable and it's great to hear from you!
